Objectives of the Food Security program are to increase food production and improve accessibility, promote livestock health, production and marketing of products, improve household incomes to vulnerable groups.

Strategic Directions
• Distribution of farm inputs and implements to encourage and stimulate farming culture to boost food production
• Capacity building on facilitating extensional services to farmers and provide counseling on how to increase their production as well as reduce cost of production.
• Livestock de-worming, vaccination restocking to famine and drought stricken pastoralist and agro-pastoralists.
• Cash or food for work
• Distribution of relief food to the vulnerable households.
• Provision of loans/grants
• Formation of small business enterprises such as Beekeeping,
Gardening, poultry etc
• Creation of revolving fund through income generated activities (IGA)
